Punchpress is a neighborhood workshop space in Austin, Texas, for people who are interested in letterpress printing and bookbinding. Whether you are an artist wishing to explore, or a designer in need of a computer break, Punchpress is a place to learn and create.

My name is Meredith Miller, and I have been involved with bookbinding and letterpress printing for more than 25 years. After studying printmaking and Bookarts in Philadelphia in the 1980s, I moved to Austin in 1991 to work for Booklab, where I specialized in restoration and artist’s bindings. Later, I ran the letterpress lab for the University of Texas design department for ten years and concurrently was the co-owner of Roto, a letterpress design business, from 1996-2002.

Punchpress began in the summer of 2002. Initially a commercial letterpress business, Punchpress is now a studio dedicated to teaching others and developing personal research and projects. Along with my work at Punchpress, I am a photo editor and work with my husband, photographer Bill McCullough. We are located in the Northfield neighborhood of Austin, north of Hyde Park near the North Loop business district.
